Boyd County Detention Center

Home Incarceration Program

The Boyd County Detention Centers Home Incarceration Program/Ankle Monitoring Program is an alternative to detention where defendants can be fitted with an Ankle Monitor/GPS device and incarcerated at home rather than in a county jail.  The goal of the Home Incarceration Program/Ankle Monitor Program is to assist the county with cost regarding housing inmates as well as to allow current inmates an alternative to traditional incarceration.  The HIP/Ankle Monitoring Program serves clients who are pre-trial and awaiting sentencing as well as those who have been convicted of a crime and have been sentenced.  The program works closely with the Commonwealth Attorney, County Attorney, and Boyd County Circuit and District Courts to determine eligibility.  Costs for the Home Incarceration Program/Ankle Monitor Program are listed below.

1. Payment: Must be made with cash, money order, certified check or via Venmo.  Personal checks will not be accepted.
