Families, friends and relatives of inmates may visit via video visits to tablet in inmates’ cell from 0800 until 2300 daily.  Inmates shall get 30 minutes of free video visit time weekly (which resets on Sunday evenings), except when an inmate has been assessed a disciplinary penalty for an infraction of rules governing visitation.  After the 30 minutes of free time is exhausted, additional visits can still be scheduled but the inmate will be charged at a rate of $0.25 per minute.  The visits can be scheduled through GTL’s website www.gettingout.com.  You will be required to set up an account and be verified.  To be verified you must upload a front and back picture of your ID.  You need to click verification tab on the side of the website after you create your account.

To schedule a remote visit, all you need is a computer with an enabled webcam, a tablet with a rear facing camera, or a smart phone with a rear facing camera, and a stable internet connection.   You can sign up by visiting  www.gettingout.com .  Once you create an account you can select a time for the visit with the inmate, the inmate will then confirm the appointment, once confirmed you will just need to log in at the selected time and conduct your visit.  Tablets are available to the inmates everyday between 0800 and 2300.  We reserve the right to restrict visitation privileges for inmates facing disciplinary action.

If you do not have a smart phone, tablet or computer, you can come to the Boyd Detention Center and we will provide you a tablet to use, only at our facility for the duration of the visit.  Tablet use at the Boyd County Detention Center is only available Monday-Friday, 8 am to 4 pm (excluding holidays).
